My name in Anthony. Yes I am a felon. I got into trouble in my early 20s, nothing violent, white collar type stuff. But like I said, I was young at the time and I thought I still had a real future in front of me. I soon found out that my future had become very, very limited.
As a felon, you are not allowed to hold any business licenses other than a truck driver’s license or a barber’s license, at least that’s the law in my state of NY. I thought once I fulfilled my sentence I would be able to get back on with my life…I was wrong.
I tried applying for jobs and as soon as the background search came back I was either fired or not offered the job. I had to find an alternative to the “Regular Job Market”
